Bubble Wrap — pop every bubble

Bubble Wrap is a close-up sheet of the plastic packing film everybody secretly loves, laid on a table and waiting for you. Every bubble is glossy and domed, catches the light, bends the wood grain underneath, and casts its own little shadow. Press one and it squashes under your finger, swells at the sides, then gives way with a sharp pop and a puff of air, leaving a flat, crinkled little crater that never inflates again. No two pops sound the same.

How to play

Tap anywhere on the sheet: the nearest bubble pops, so there is nothing to aim at. Drag your finger across the sheet and it rolls over every bubble on its way, in a crackling chain; go fast for a full salvo. Press and hold still and your palm comes down on the film, flattening a whole patch in a burst. When the sheet is nearly done, a fresh one unrolls from its roll. Pick the bubble size (small, medium, large, extra large, or a mix with a few giant ones), the film (clear, pink anti-static, blue, green, silver metallized, holographic) and the table (walnut, cardboard, marble, slate). Notes adds a soft musical note to the pops, rising from left to right.

Why it's satisfying

It is the oldest fidget in the world, with nothing lost: every bubble pops on the first try, rolling across a row sounds like a string of firecrackers, and there is always another sheet. No score, no timer, no goal, just the small click of plastic giving way, over and over.
